Village Information

Rampton is a popular village approximately 8 miles from Cambridge and 2 miles from Cottenham.

The village was built around the picturesque village green and offers a whole range of interesting and attractive character homes.

It is a small village with a thriving community which holds regular events which are mainly held at the village hall. The village is one of the smallest in the surrounding area but is able to draw on the facilities offered by the neighbouring villages of Cottenham and Willingham.

All Saints Church in Rampton is one of the very few English churches with a thatched roof and because of its importance has recently received funding from the English Heritage to start restoration work there.

There is a village pub called the Black Horse public house which serves food and for fresh air and exercise there are some delightful walks around the village including Rampton Park and woods.

The catchment area for schooling is both the Cottenham Primary school in Lambs Lane and Cottenham Village College as a secondary school.

The village is home to an annual horse show which is celebrated locally as an authentic traditional style show, other village events include an annual fete on the village green in the summer.
