Location

Lying just 7 miles (11.27 kilometres) east of Cambridge between the A14 and A11 and 8.8 miles (14.16 kilometres) from Newmarket, the parish of Great Wilbraham has been occupied for thousands of years.

Village Information

The village is mostly residential with some local employment in agriculture and many residents commute to Cambridge or Newmarket.

The housing stock is mostly Victorian or older, with a few modest-sized modern estates. A village green adjoins the churchyard, and there is a post office and general store, village hall and social club. The village has a strong interest in sport and have teams in cricket and football, while darts and indoor bowls are favourites at the social club.

Facilities

There is one public house in Great Wilbraham, The Carpenters Arms,  and the primary school enjoys an excellent reputation which feeds into the village college at nearby Bottisham.

Little Wilbraham is one mile further west of its neighbour and mainly comprises farmhouses and cottages. The 'Hole in the Wall' pub dates back from the mid 16th. Century which offers quality food in a beautiful setting.
