Location

The village of Fen Drayton lies approximately 10 miles (16.09 kilometres) from Cambridge, St Ives, a historic market town is just 5 miles (8.05 kilometres) away, and 9 miles (14.48 kilometres) to Huntingdon which offers a mainline train station.

Village Information

Access to Cambridge is via the A14 or via the guided busway located within the nature reserve which continues to Addenbrooke's hospital and westbound to St Ives. Alongside the route is a cycle path, often used by walkers and runners alike.

The village itself is picturesque with the conservation area encompassing the High Street, comprising many thatched and period homes. The village is home to a quaint pub, The Three Tuns which dates back to the Tudor times and is well known for their Sunday lunches. Meals are served throughout the week and a village shop also operates from the pub which is a popular pit stop for ramblers being a short walk to the RSPB nature reserve. Fen Drayton Lakes, which is home to many species of wetland birds as well as many native birds and animals.

Hockeys have been proud sponsors of the Fen Drayton 10k and Fun Run since 2011.

Facilities

There is a village green and children’s park, Montessori nursery, a small and successful Primary school which feeds into Swavesey Village College which was rated outstanding by Ofsted in 2020.
