Village Information

This picturesque village offers some great walks, some through Dalham Estate which has a large acreage of woodland including some very ancient Oak trees. There is an attractive Church standing in a commanding position overlooking the valley of the River Kennet. The Affleck Arms was amongst one of the first buildings to be erected in the village, when the valley floor was first settled in the sixteenth century. It was built at the same time as the two cottages across the stream, and still occupies a central position in Dalham. Most of Dalham’s buildings came later in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

The village of Dalham offers some local amenities including a public house (The Affleck Arms), a church and village hall. The nearby horseracing town of Newmarket provides a good range of amenities including schools, shops, supermarkets, hotels, restaurants and leisure facilities, including health clubs, a swimming pool and golf club.
