The small village of Bourn is located within 8 miles (12.87 kilometres) of Cambridge city centre and is surrounded by several villages including Caxton, Eltisley and Cambourne. Bourn is located 12 miles (19.31 kilometres) from Royston railway station which provides a mainline to London King’s Cross and Cambridge. Royston also provides many larger shops such as Tesco, Morrisons and Aldi as well as some excellent restaurants and public houses which are located in the town centre. The village is also well-placed for many main roads such as the A505, A428, A14 and the A1. All of which provide easy travel for someone looking to commute from the area.
The village offers many amenities such as a post office/village shop, butcher, golf club, Church of England Primary School and a windmill, which is thought to be one of the oldest windmills in the country dating back to at least 1636.
