Location

Boxworth is an attractive village situated approximately twelve miles to the north-west of Cambridge, junction 28 on the A14 and eight miles to the market town of St Ives. 

Village Information

A semi-rural setting with open countryside surrounding the village, neighbouring Elsworth, Conington, also Knapwell which offers beautiful walks within its woods. Today Boxworth has one public house remaining,  The Golden Ball Hotel is a traditional 16th Century thatched Inn just one mile from A14. They offer ten peaceful, modern en-suite rooms, with tea/coffee making facilities, they also host functions and are open daily for lunch and dinner, with a traditional bar and what they describe as a classic British menu.

Facilities

The village is catchment for Elsworth primary school and Swavesey Village College, which in its last inspection early 2020 was rated as outstanding by Ofsted. With shopping in nearby Bar Hill and Cambourne, Swavesey services is located at the junction just off the A14 at Boxworth and comprises a petrol station with cash point and hotel, together with a food hall which includes a range of fast food concessions, M&S Simply Food, WHSmith, Costa and children’s play area.
