Location

The Queen Edith’s ward is mainly a residential area to the south of Cambridge city centre.

Area Information

There are a number of parks in the location, namely Gunhild Close play area, Holbrook Road recreation ground and Nightingale Recreation Ground on Nightingale Road. Nine Wells local nature reserve is close by which is a 1.2 hectare site on the southern outskirts of Cambridge. It is a small area of woodland surrounded by agricultural land, with multiple springs from the base of a chalk hill, which feed into Hobson's Conduit.

Facilties

The Cambridge Leisure park on Clifton Road is a large retail and food outlet that also has a cinema, bowling, gym, hotels and is home to the Cambridge Junction, a popular live music and arts venue. Restaurants at the Leisure park include Bella Italia, Five Guys, Frankie & Benny's, Nines Global Buffet, Nandos, Rockers Steak House, and Wagamama to new a few.

The local doctor's surgery is The Queen Edith’s Medical Practice, and the local hospital is Addenbrooke's, which is an internationally renowned teaching hospital and research centre.

Queen Edith’s Primary School on Godwin Way is the closest primary school with Netherhall School and Sports Centre the closest secondary.
