Location

Shepreth is located just off the A10 approximately 9 miles (14.48 kilometres) south-west of Cambridge and 6 miles (9.66 kilometres) north-east of Royton.

Village Information

Shepreth has an eclectic mix of properties from characterful cottages to contemporary modern homes and has the fantastic benefit of a train station with lines directly into London Kings Cross and Cambridge, so is a popular choice with commuters who are looking for country living. It also has excellent road links with access to the A10, direct access to the M11 and the A505.

There is a nursery located in the village hall and the primary schools are based at the local villages of Meldreth and Barrington. The local secondary school is Melbourne Village College which has a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating. Shepreth Wildlife Park is an awarding winning park with a huge variety of different animals from big cats to smaller insects and reptiles.

Facilities

The Plough is a traditional village pub with weekly live music that was substantially renovated in 2014.  Teacake is a traditional English tearoom within a 1660 thatched cottage with a walled garden, serving light lunches and home-made cakes with quality teas and coffees.  There is also a village hall, a childrens playground, and a nature reserve. The village has two medieval sites which are classed as ancient monuments.
